Nurture Council Meeting
Minutes May 9, 2012
In attendance: Kate Husk, Gail
Bingham, Charlie Boyd
Scholarship requests: A request has
been made for scholarship help for two youth to go to the
over -night Cedar Ridge Camp this summer. They will get a
$75 discount if they registered by the end of this month.
The cost of the camp is $449 per youth.
A request has also been made to help
another youth work as a CIT for 3 weeks of camp this
summer. The cost of that program is $549/week.
Nurture council voted to request $200
per person from the Leake scholarship fund to cover the
youth. If funds are not available through the Leake
Scholarship fund it was approved to take $200 for each of
the three youth come out of Nurture council’s budget.
Christian Ed appreciation Luncheon:
We anticipate as many as 50 people. We
are asking that each member of nurture council make a LARGE
salad. Charlie Boyd is making Chinese Chicken Salad. Kate
Husk is making a pasta salad. Gail Bingham is making a
chicken and rice salad. Gail will email those on Nurture
council not in attendance and request other make additional
salads and set up tables. Kate and Jane will lead the
program.
Bernheim Hike: Scheduled for May 19.
Meet at church at 10:00 a.m. and we will leave from the
church. Bring pot luck picnic items to share.

Bats Game: The bats game is scheduled
for June 14. $26 dollars was charged against nurture
council for bats tickets. No one knows who bought the
tickets. We decided to purchase 40 bats tickets out of
nurture’s budget to get group seating, but will ask those
who want to go to purchase the tickets from the church.
Community Dinners in July: A request
was submitted by the Deacons for assistance with a community
supper on Sunday July 29. We already volunteered to help
with the dinner on Wed July 25. If they need help on the 29th
from 12:30-3:00 instead we could help with that. We can
help prepare food, but we do not have the resources to
provide funds out of Nurture’s budget this year.
Sunday school curriculum: Seasons of
the Spirit curriculum was ordered.
Marcus and Debbie are interested in
helping plan a vacation bible school in 2013 and would like
to meet with Nurture in the future. |
