My history with Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church actually began when I was a student at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in the early 80’s.  I worshiped here then because I appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and because of the strong preaching.  Years later, our family returned to Louisville for my husband, Brad Wigger, to teach at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  As we sought out a church home, it was our children who really chose CHPC because they sensed this congregation’s commitment to children and youth.

I became pastor of Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church in 2000 and have learned from and grown with this congregation in many ways.  CHPC is a wonderful community that cares about one another and the world.  The people here take their faith seriously, but not themselves.  There is also a deep commitment to mission, a passion for justice, and a desire to grow in faith.  CHPC is a great place to preach because folks participate in worship so fully.  I feel very honored and graced to be the pastor of this church.

When not involved with CHPC, I enjoy reading, traveling, quilting, and am in a long-range project of learning Spanish.

I began working at Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church in September 1984.  My family and I joined CHPC after I was secure that there would be no "conflict of interest" in my participation as a member and an employee.  I have an undergraduate degree in Music Education, and I have taught in public school.  My Masters Degree is in Piano Pedagogy, so teaching has always been a priority for me; however, my vocational journey has included a wide variety of musical experiences.  The things I most enjoy about being a part of this congregation are relationships, fellowship, leading and being led, nurturing and being nurtured and the mutual trust that has developed over the past 26 (!?!) years.

I became a member of Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church in 2006.

Before moving to Louisville, I lived both in Belfast, Northern Ireland and London, England as a Young Adult Volunteer and a long-term volunteer in mission with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  In Belfast, I worked with children and youth within a church and the local community.  In London, I supported young adults from around the world who were volunteering a year of service in the United Kingdom.  (That’s where and when I met Ian.)  In between those experiences, I worked as Coordinator for Christian Education, mission and youth programming for a church in Ashland, Kentucky.  I am currently the Emergency Assistance Social Worker for South Louisville Community Ministries where I assist low-income families with paying vital rent, water, and LG&E bills and manages a Dare to Care food pantry.

I began serving as coordinator for children and youth ministries in 2007.  My husband, Ian, and I  both grew up in close-knit, small churches and struggled to find a church home in Louisville.  We were searching for a church family in which youth and children were valued and involved, where mission outreach was central, where diversity was thriving, and where Christians were being called to act out their faith—not simply within the walls of the church building but out in the streets of the community and the world as well.  We found that in CHPC.  When not at CHPC, we enjoy time with our daughter, photography, science fiction movies/television shows, and playing in our garden.

I became a member of Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church in 1989.  I worked as a counselor for almost 15 years before making the decision to return to a clerical vocation.  I began serving as administrative assistant at CHPC in 2002.  I enjoy the supportive nature of my work and the grace-filled nature of this congregation.  When not involved with CHPC, I enjoy reading, knitting, and spending time at home with my husband, Jack, and kitty, Lucy.

I came to CHPC a couple of months after the Presbyterian Center opened in August 1988.  I have served as a Director of Christian Education, a Co-Pastor with my clergy husband-at-the-time, an Interim Associate Pastor, and an associate with the Evangelism Office at the Presbyterian Center.  I have had a number of secular jobs over the years and am currently a Customer Service Representative at the Thornton’s in Prospect.

I really enjoy being on call for our pastor, Jane Larsen-Wigger, when Jane is out of town.  Most of the time, I am not called upon; but when I am, I get to become involved in ways that have not been possible for me since I left the pastorate.  Working with the youth is keeping my spirit younger—they really are a great bunch of kids.  Going on mission trips is a real treat for me as well.  Being a part of this congregation is keeping my faith vital and alive.  This is a very special place filled with very special people.

I am an active member of Kentuckians for the Commonwealth working to end Mountain Top Removal, reform the Kentucky tax code, promote energy efficiency programs and the development of renewable energy resources, and restoring voting rights to convicted felons who have completed their sentences.  I also enjoy working on the computer and playing with my two cats.

I began attending CHPC regularly in 1993, originally because my brother and his family were involved here.  I became a parish associate in the spring of 2007.  Currently I am the executive director of the Kentucky Council of Churches.  My previous work was in the area of world mission.  This congregation enjoys breaching the walls that needlessly separate people.  I love being part of this tendency and helping cultivate it, as well as occasionally being able to be of some service to our great pastor.  Singing is a great passion for me and I especially love Schubert.  Also, I have taken up a new hobby, the cultivation of bonsai trees.

My wife, Carol, and I began attending Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church in 1979.  I am retired from the Kentucky Office for the Blind where I began as a rehab counselor and eventually became an assistive technology specialist.  I did Braille transcription and taught students how to use computers with speech and Braille and how to use Braille notetakers.  I now do Braille transcription out of my home (as well as providing Braille bulletins for folks at CHPC).  I am a consultant on blindness and visual impairment for the denomination and tutor a student in Braille.  I enjoy meeting people, hearing their stories, serving communion to those unable to get to church, preaching, and writing liturgy.  I love to read, mostly nonfiction.  I listen to public radio and a variety of stations around the country.  I enjoy keeping up with current events and the background behind them.  I enjoy a variety of music, including classical, music from the 30s and 40s, folk, and many others.
